Congratulations Boys!

Hello Boys!

Congratulations on a wonderful concert weekend. You were so well-behaved during the dress rehearsals, and the performances were absolutely spectacular. 'Christmas in the Trenches' was so moving. You must have felt really special singing with all the older boys of Shallaway and Newman Sound Men's Choir. You should be very proud of yourselves.

A reminder that rehearsals are over now until January.
Enjoy the Christmas season, and see you in the New Year!

Boys...Last week before concert!!! :)

Hello Boys!

You sounded wonderful singing with Newman Sound Men's Choir on Monday. You must be so excited to perform 'Christmas in the Trenches' this weekend.

In the days leading up to the concert, please take the time to sing through 'Christmas in the Trenches' each day so you are completely comfortable with this song.

Also, please review the words to the carols you will be singing. There are a lot of verses!

Looking forward to seeing you at Friday's Dress Rehearsal.

:)

Boys Rehearsal - October 11

Boys! You sounded awesome on Monday!
Please keep reviewing the words of Don't Worry Be Happy, so you are completely comfortable for the big performance on Saturday night.
Also, practice walking and snapping (or pretend snapping) to the song, as this is how we will be entering the stage.
The most important thing: Practice using your 'Happy' face while singing this song! Have fun!
I am so proud of you, and we will see you tomorrow at Dress Rehearsal:
3:30-6:30 at the MUN Reid Theatre in the Arts and Admin building.

Boys Rehearsal - October 4

Hey Boys!
Thanks for the great rehearsal on Monday.
Keep practicing Don't Worry, Be Happy and have it completely off score for next week.
Remember that for the chorus, we are always going to 'ooh' instead of whistle.
Also, you could practice walking around and snapping (or pretending to snap!) because that is one possible way we will enter for the song.
Those who are going to whistle solo or sing will be contacted by me this week.
You all sounded wonderful in the auditions!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and see you Monday October 11th for our rehearsal!
:)

Girls - listen listen listen!!

line =  LAHN

Boys and Girls
Listen to and sing along with Niska Banja at least 4 times before rehearsal next week.
Memorize lines 3 and 4
A challenge!!! Can you sing your part while listening to the other part?!?

Boys

Your song for the October concert is coming along!
Keep watching the YouTube video of 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' to help you get into the groove of the song!
A reminder that for the concert we are singing verses 1 and 3 together, as well as the chorus. The chorus will be a mix of whistling and ooh-ing (a nice tall ooh!) So, all these parts will need to be memorized over the next couple of weeks. For Saturday, 1st verse and choruses fully memorized please!
The second verse will be for solos, and you will have the chance to try out on Saturday if you didn't already today (you can audition using the words to the 1st verse)
While memorizing verse 1 for the Saturday Day Camp, please review the song slowly, paying close attention to some of the details we worked on today. Beware of scooping please! :)

Have a good week boys; see you at the Day Camp on Saturday! :)
